DIVERGENCE FROM CANON (brief): Nathan didn’t run to the President with information about the other humans with abilities. Instead, he took some time to cool down before making up with Peter and his family. With their support he ran for President and won. After winning the election he informed his cabinet, the heads of state, and a few trusted generals about the evolved humans. He tried to turn the Company into a Federal operation. Unfortunately, there were a few trusted generals who couldn’t exactly be trusted and felt Nathan’s approach was a little too soft. In the interest of public safety they tried to round up and contain every individual with powers. A year after Nathan became president the country broke out into something similar to a civil war. With the introduction of powers to the mix the ongoing battle has left much of the US a wasteland.
